A 6 mile, moderate elevation hike combining the historic former Hamilton Army Air Field and part of the San Francisco Bay Coastal Trail overlooking the restored wetlands of the former runway.

Take a walk back in time to the former Hamilton Field Army and later Air Force base resplendent with 300 palm trees and Spanish Revival Architecture. A short hike up Reservior Hill offers spectacular views. Â Check out the redevelopment since the base closure in the late 1970's. Hamilton Wetlands is 750 acres of restored bay wetlands on an area that was formerly occupied by the runway. Option to have lunch at Beso Bistro and Wine Bar and tour the Hamilton Field History Museum. Please RSVP. Bring water, sunscreen and picnic lunch if not going to the restaurant.
