Intermediate Hike: Marin Water District: Lagunitas and Bon Tempe Lakes loop

Delightful walk around Lagunitas and Bon Tempe Lakes. Trail hugs the lakes almost the whole way with beautiful views across the water.  Port-a-potties at the trailhead in the Bon Tempe Lake parking area and at two other locations around the lake. Optional stop in the quaint town of Fairfax afterwards for cold drinks/pastry at the Coffee Roastery and/or ice cream at Fairfax Scoop. About 6.1 miles, 335 ft elevation gain. Bring lunch, water, poles if needed, sunhat and sunscreen recommended. Though most of the trail is shaded, there are a few open stretches. Driving time to trailhead about 1 hour, 20 minutes. Marin Water District is not in the State or National Park system. Parking fees $8.00 per vehicle, purchased at kiosks near the entrance. Leave Berger 9 am. Hike Leader Linne McAleer (415) 847-4420
