About the event

UPDATED DESCRIPTION: We will be rewarded with  views of the Mayacamas Mountains. On the trail and at the old Lawson property at the top  there will be views of Oakmont, the Santa Rosa plain and beyond.

It is hoped that fellow hiker, Carleen Lawson/Clawson, will be joining us to share some stories of the area surrounding Hood Mountain. Her family previously owned and passed on the property to land trust.

We will hike Lower Johnson Ridge Trail to the Lawson Trail starting from the Pythian Rd parking lot.   About 8 miles and 1600 ft. We’ll have a break at the top and take a couple of detours to view the old pot growing areas, now part of the park.   Bring water, snack/lunch and poles if you use them. Heavy rain cancels. Hike leaders Peggy Clark 650-274-4137 and Colleen Keegan 925-487-4014
