LONG HIKE: "THE BUBBLY" in Annadel

Here is a new improved, exciting plan for the Bubbly long hike on January 5th. This involves leaving the Berger at 9.00AM (Not our usual 8.30am) in concert with the short and intermediate hikers using a city bus arranged by Gary to shuttle all of us to the top of Oak Mesa.  All three groups will hike to the Two Quarry / Marsh trail intersection known to many as the "Solar Toilet". At the picnic tables there, we might casually find that some refreshments have been brought along to be consumed. After this, the short and intermediate hikers will proceed on different routes and eventually return by bus from Oak Mesa.  The Long hikers will proceed to Henry's Knob, break for whatever you brought for lunch, and then continue hiking back to the Berger by way of Lake Ilsandro and Steve's S trail to Channel Drive. The long hike will total about 9.5 miles and an elevation gain of 1400ft. Bring lunch, water, poles and dress in layers.
