SHORT HIKE

We explore pastoral Crane Creek, famed for its spacious views, legacy oaks and buckeye trees, and along mostly flat trails with colorful names - Lupine, Fiddleneck, Poppy, Hawk Ridge. At a leisurely pace, about 3 miles/2 hours; possibly some early wildflowers in the grasslands.  Bring water and a snack; picnic back at the cars after the hike. County Parks permit or $7/day use.  Depart from Berger at 9:00 sharp.  Rain cancels.  Leader: Carolyn Greene, (805) 443-7289.
