Short Hikers - Hunter's Camp/Creekside Connector

If you missed the recent North Coast Tri-Nighter, you can still enjoy some lush redwood time as we hike the eastern edge of Sonoma Coast State Park, off  Coleman Valley Road (10 min west of Occidental, 1 hour drive from Oakmont - limited parking - carpoolinig recommended).   Short hikers will walk 3-4 miles through a shady coastal rain forest - juicy trailside wild raspberries ready for the picking and banana slugs for entertainment/wonder.  You may wait at the half-way point for the intermediate hikers (bring something to sit on) or  return to the cars and head back to Occidental for lunch at the Altamont General Store restaurant  - or at another place in town, or bring your own lunch - and then have some time to walk around the super-cute town of Occidental.  Short hike distance is 3 -4 miles and 400' slow-paced elevation loss/gain (uphill on the way out).  Water and poles suggested.  Be sure to check website July 12 for any changes.  Note 8:30am departure time (check-in 8:15) Short Hike Leader Carolyn Greene 805-443-7289
