Tri Night Intermediate 'B": Tafoni and Fir Trail

Located in El Corte De Madera Open Space, this pleasant route offers, cool redwood canyons that transition to either mixed evergreen forest or chaparral as one travels up the drier, warmer ridges. There are views toward the San Mateo Coast, intriguing sandstone formations, and even a grove of old-growth redwoods.  Lunch at Alice’s Restaurant in Woodside, then drive thru La Honda and a final stop at the San Gregorio General Store.  Trailhead is a  30 minute drive from HMB Lodge, no restrooms.  Departs HMB Lodge at 8:30 am, return at about 3:00 pm. Limited to 20 hikers  4.9 Miles, 826 Feet
