2.2 miles = 2.2 hours
We certainly managed to STRETCH our lovely walk out this morning at Shollenberger Park, Alman Marsh and Ellis Creek in Petaluma, and were turned back by even greater mileage accomplishments by muddy conditions - quicksand (maybe?)! What a fun group - 2 brand new Oakmonters - Kani and Ellenburg from N. Carolina - (only here since January!, to which John P. quipped, "what took you so long (to join the hiking club)?" It was a gorgeous day and we were slowed considerably by sightings of 40+ species of birds - highlights were a Northern Harrier, Common Goldeneye duck, avocets and stilts and many other colorful and interesting avian species.
