SHORT: Bodega Head

Bodega Head Trail is a 1.7-mile loop trail located near Bodega Bay that features spectacular ocean views and is good for all skill levels. The trail offers numerous vista points, benches and picnic tables. Unpaved but smooth paths wander along bluffs overlooking the ocean; whale sightings are possible. Restrooms are available; bring water, and wear layers - the area can be windy.  Rain cancels.  Optional stop for lunch at Spud Point Crab Co.  Driving Directions to Bodega Head: Take Highway 12 west, through Sebastopol to Hwy 1. Turn right (north) on Hwy 1 through Town of Bodega Bay. Take left on Eastshore Road, then right on Bay Flat Road which turns into Westshore Road. Follow all the way to the end to parking lot at Bodega Head. Total 35 miles; approx. 1 hour.  Leave Berger at 9:00 a.m.  Hike leader is Tony Lachowicz, (707)-888-1430.
