Spring Tri-Nighter: Chico/Oroville/Sutter Buttes

The Oakmont Hiking Club Spring Tri-nighter will be held April 15-17 in the Chico/Lake Oroville area with an optional bonus hike on Thursday to Sutter Buttes. Hikes for all three levels are planned at North Table Mountain Ecological Reserve, which offers spectacular super-bloom wildflower displays in April. We are also exploring options for all three levels at Upper Bidwell and Lake Oroville State Recreation Area. An optional guided interpretive hike at Sutter Buttes, the eroded remains of a super volcano that once dominated the plains north of Yuba City, is planned for Thursday for those wishing to explore this unique area on the way home.

We will stay at the Holiday Inn Express in Chico and have negotiated a rate of $129 plus taxes per night for standard double queen or single king rooms, and $159 + tax for double queen suites. All rooms have fridges and microwaves, free hot breakfast is included in the rate. We will have use of the hotel’s breakfast room for our Happy Hour events on Monday and Tuesday evenings.

A block of rooms has been set aside for us. This rate will be available until noon March 1, so don’t delay to book. If your plans change, you can cancel up to 6 pm the day before.
