Kortum Trail

Fog blanket cleared a bit by lunchtime to give us a clear view of Goat Rock from the overlook point. Abundant wildflowers, some excitement as word came back that rangers were closing the trail due to a bear sighting. We decided to complete the hike anyway, with some of us eager to see that bear, however no bear was seen by us. Were we seen by the bear? Who knows . . . the bear was not available for comment . . .

Goat Rock
Wow, Florentia posts a hike on Wednesday morning, then 14 hikers show up 24 hours later for a fun hike on the coast that had somne excitement! First the Park Ranger warned us about a bear sighting 30 minutes earlier, then we got word that a new Pope from the U.S. had been chosen and then Gary loses his car keys on the trail, only to be found by other hikers who notified Brenda who called Gary. Whew! Thank you Saint Anthony! That called for a root beer float later at the Duncan's Mills Bakery where a very relaxed bird sat next to me and ate Roberta's peanut butter cookie crumbs.
